Fishing

Matheysine offers lush and varied fishing spots. Nestled among lakes (easily reachables) and mountains, discover our fishing areas

Lakes of Matheysine, to fish easily

From Laffrey to La Mure, enjoy many fishing spots. 2nd grade fishing, the lakes of Laffrey, Petichet and Cordeliers (private fishing by reservation), the lake Mort and the Crey's pond are home to many species of fish : pike, perch, tench, carp, trout, white fishes, arctic char, lavaret, gudgeon.

The lake of Cordeliers and the lake Mort also offer night trout fishing, an activity which cannot be overlooked !

Few kilometres from La Mure, in the lake of Valbonnais, we could find the same fish species than the preceding lakes. Note that, with the bond of Crey, it is the only one to be available to disabled people.

The lake of Le Sautet and the lake Monteynard, with their nautical bases, are the biggest lakes of the territory. They offer plenty of activities, in addition to fishing.

Mountain fishing, a trip that gives you a complete change of scene

Ideal to revitalize yourself and enjoy peace, little mountain lakes offer unique species of fish in Matheysine. You will find brown trouts and rainbow trouts in the lakes of Taillefer. Direction to Alpe du Grand Serre, after La Valette, the lakes of Rif Bruyant are the perfect place to hike and fish, in one day. If you go to the ski resort, you will appreciate the lake of L’Alpe du Grand Serre, in which you can both swim and fish.

Few kilometres from the resort, discover the lake of Poursollet for a quiet fishing in wonderful surroundings, edged by pine trees. From the Poursollet, enjoy easy walking to reach the fishing places as such as the lakes of Claret, Brouffier and Fourchu, a real natural jewel.
