De Trièves en Dévoluy

Description

A superb figure eight loop which will take you up no less than 5 passes under the constant gaze of the majestic Obiou (2789m). You can cut this route in two starting from Corps.

From the car park opposite the Petit Train de La Mure station, join the D168 south towards Ponsonnas/Cognet/Les Rives. You will cross Le Drac on the Cognet Roman bridge, to St-Jean-d’Hérans. At the exit of St-Jean-d'Hérans take the D526 on the left towards Mens, then on the left the road to the Col de la Croix de Chavet (933m). The D 66 will then take you to the Col de St-Sébastien ( 983m), up to La Croix de la Pigne. You will arrive at the Sautet dam via the D537 which will take you to Corps. From there, take the N85 towards Gap to reach Aspres-lès-Corps, on the D58 (be careful of the left turn) and the Col des Festreaux (1103 m). Go back down to St Firmin, and cross the village going down the D216 to go back up the other slope via the D316 towards Les Blachus. At the Aubergerie, turn left onto the D23 towards St-Bonnet-en-Champsaur. There, follow the direction of Noyer by taking the D217a to reach Poligny and the D17 to the Col du Noyer (1st category pass) where the view alone is worth the detour. The reputation of the Col du Noyer and its 1,664 meters is well established: 7.5 kilometers for more than 600 meters of elevation, an average slope of 8.21% and maximum of 14.5%. The descent to St-Etienne-en-Dévoluy will allow you to begin the return via the D17, then the D117 towards St-Disdier and Pellafol. Returning to Corps, head towards La Mure, via Ste Luce and St-Michel-en-Beaumont via the D212, to join the N85, then the D212b towards Siévoz and finally La Mure via the D26.
