​​Who are the Sanctuary Cities and what are they for?

The Association of The Sanctuary Cities in France aims to bring together and federate the major French pilgrimage sites. Each of the 20 destinations, made up of a tourist office and sanctuary pair, come together to improve visitor attendance. The members of the association meet several times a year to share their best practices in terms of reception and communication.

 

Notre-Dame de la Salette, 2nd Sanctuary City in France

Notre-Dame de la Salette is the second Sanctuary City in France after Lourdes. With its 400 beds, it is also the largest accommodation provider in Isère. Whether you are religious or not, it is an essential place to visit in Matheysine which has many assets:
